What does it mean to be a sustainable winery? How does sustainability certification both complement and go beyond farming ethics like organic? While traditional organic certification focuses on eliminating the use of synthetic inputs, we'll discuss the broader goals and standards of genuine sustainability. Building on Napa Valley's history of environmental leadership, three Napa Valley wineries will share their stories of integrating sustainability into their entire winery operations to maximize grape and wine quality, improve resource efficiency and prevent waste, lower their carbon footprint and increase their positive social impacts.
